Our Sites are a part of "Man-Upp," a company I started in 2007 in memory of my Dad, who like many of us Enjoyed Meeting Up With His Friends to Enjoy a Good Cigar or Pipe. He also Inspired and Encouraged me many times to"Man Up"

 

 

 

"MAN UP" is not just a saying or phrase to Us...it’s your ATTITUDE toward Life! It’s HOW YOU Approach Life…being STRONG in the Challenging Moments, TOUGH when You need to be, BOLD when you should be, HUMBLE, RESILIENT, LARGER than LIFE...a REAL MAN!

 

 

My Love for Cigars began with my Dad...I have been smoking cigars and enjoying learning more about them over the last 5 years. My Dad enjoyed a cigar every day that I can remember while I was growing up. 

He began smoking cigars beginning in his late teens and truly had a love for a good cigar. When he died very suddenly in 1991, I never had the opportunity to share a cigar with him. I do regret that we never had that moment to sit down under the shade tree of our family home in and enjoy a good cigar.

I have many memories of waking up in the mornings as a kid and the smells of our home drifting throughout the house. They were the distinct smells of coffee brewing, bacon cooking in a skillet and my Dad's cigar smoke. I would always walk into the kitchen and see him sitting at the table drinking his coffee and smoking his morning cigar.

 

Those memories of him I cherish because he was doing something he loved! He also enjoyed a pipe on occasion. Almost every evening you could find him on our front porch enjoying a cigar or pipe after dinner. 

 

During my Dad's life the internet was really not even functioning like it is today. The one thing he really enjoyed in his spare time was sitting around with his friends and enjoying a good smoke together. I can still see them all sitting out under our big oak tree and the smoke drifting through the yard as they talked and laughed and smoked all afternoon.

 

My Dad taught me several things while he was alive. Most importantly he believed you should be respectful of others no matter how different they are from you, be humble, be a true friend, don't talk about other people when you can't say anything good and be a man when it comes to life...sometimes having to Man Up when things got tough!  The extra P was added to the business name, just to emphasis the Upp! 

Out of those fond memories of my Dad enjoying his Cigars, Pipes or a smoke gave me the idea to start these sites.

Through our sites, I hope to help men connect with others that have that same love and passion for a good CIGAR, PIPE or SMOKE

as my Dad and his Friends did all those years ago!
